Ash Wednesday: Mass Times & Other Info

This week, we celebrate the start of the Lenten Season with Ash Wednesday. The practice of marking oneself with ashes has deep historical roots in ancient customs. In the Old Testament, ashes symbolize mourning, mortality, and penance. Lent is a 40-day period dedicated to prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, all aimed at aligning more closely with Christ's will. It serves as a time of preparation, allowing us to deepen our relationship with Christ in anticipation of His Resurrection at Easter.

Important Reminder

Ash Wednesday is a day of obligatory fast and abstinence.

Each Friday of Lent is an obligatory day of abstinence.

Ash Wednesday Mass Times

Our plans for Masses on Ash Wednesday are as follows:

We will advance the usual morning Mass (Eng.) from 8:00am to 7:00am. This is super early and we hope that it will allow for most people to come with a little sacrifice.

We will maintain the regular 7:00pm Mass (TLM). We encourage those who attend this Mass to spiritually live the day in anticipation of the ashes they will receive in the evening.
