A Joyous Celebration: Our Parish Epiphany Potluck Party

The holiday season may have come to an end, but our parish community knows how to keep the festive spirit alive! This year, our Epiphany Potluck Party was a delightful gathering filled with laughter, fun activities, mouth-watering food, and a wonderful sense of togetherness. Here’s a recap of the memorable moments we shared.

A Feast for the Senses

The heart of any potluck is the food, and our parishioners certainly did not disappoint. The tables were laden with a diverse array of dishes that showcased the culinary talents within our community. From jollof rice and savory pies to vibrant salads and indulgent desserts, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Crafting and Creativity

The party atmosphere was further enlivened by a craft corner where both children and adults could unleash their creativity. Craft stations were set up with supplies for making Three Kings out of beads and string! It was heartwarming to see families working together, sharing ideas, and helping each other in crafting beautiful keepsakes to take home.

Bingo and Games Galore

No parish party is complete without some friendly competition, and our Epiphany potluck was no exception. The Bingo game was a highlight of the evening, drawing in participants of all ages. The excitement in the room was palpable as numbers were called out and players eagerly marked their cards, hoping to shout "Bingo!" and claim one of the delightful prizes.

A Community United

Beyond the food, crafts, and games, the true essence of our Epiphany Potluck Party was the sense of community and fellowship. It was a time to catch up with friends, meet new faces, and strengthen the bonds that make our parish feel like a family. This gathering reminded us of the joy and warmth that comes from being part of a vibrant Catholic community.

As we move forward into the new year, let us carry the joy and unity of this celebration with us. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and delicious dishes to make our Epiphany Potluck Party a resounding success. We look forward to more wonderful gatherings in the future!

A Blessed Harmony: Our Pastor Blesses the Organ

In a recent ceremony, our Pastor, Father Jeff Oehring, imparted a blessing upon our church's organ, an instrument that has long been the heart of our musical worship. The event was marked by the presence of St. Ann's choirs and our organists, creating a moment of unity and celebration.

A Symbolic Ceremony

The organ, with its pipes and tones, has been a cornerstone of the Church’s musical tradition. Recognizing its importance, our Pastor led a blessing ceremony, emphasizing the instrument's role in enhancing our worship and bringing joy to our congregation.

A Gathering of Voices

Both of St. Ann's choirs for the 10 AM English Mass and Noon TLM gathered for this occasion. Choir members, from seasoned vocalists to newcomers, joined in a blessing that underscored the unity of our church community.

Organists in the spotlight

Our organists, who bring the instrument to life with their skill, were also present for the ceremony. Dr. Gordon’s dedication and talent was on display as he demonstrated the organ's capabilities, playing a Christmas hymn for the children and singers gathered. His performance highlighted the organ's ability to inspire, echoing the pastor's message of hope and faith.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.
— Psalm 100

A Community United in Music

This blessing ceremony was more than just a dedication of an instrument; it was a testament to the strength and unity of our church family. As the organ's notes filled the sanctuary, they carried the prayers and dreams of our community, resonating with a message of peace.

In the days that follow, we look forward to the continued role of our blessed organ in our worship services, knowing it will inspire us and strengthen our faith. With each note played, the organ will remind us of this day and the unity we share as a congregation.
